Happy to have a concert coming up in Portland with my Imaginary Ensemble! Hope you can join us for an evening of exploratory jazz and new-music inflected compositions and improvisations.

We'll be drawing on funk-flavored explorations of deep space and "gravitational hum", some durable straight-ahead  jazz, and a even taste of 1820s sublimity via an excerpt from L. van Beethoven's final composition (a string quartet), in my (possibly blasphemous!) custom arrangement for our ensemble.

I'm thrilled to have a great group of fellow musicians in the band:

Carl Dimow, flutes; Frank Mauceri, saxophones; Scott Kiefner, bass; John Mettam, drums; and Richard Nelson (me!), guitar and compositions  

 Doors open at 7:00, we'll play one set starting at 7:30. It's a double bill with the wonderfully creative Bedlam and Eunoia ensemble.
